O!PLA FOKUS NA POLJSKO: SODOBNA POLJSKA ANIMACIJA

Vabljene_i na predavanje in projekcijo programa “O!PLA Focus na Poljsko: Sodobna poljska animacija”, ki predstavlja najnovejše in najbolj kul poljske animirane filme (O!PLA pomeni “Oh! Polish Animation”, pa tudi: “Oh! People Love Animation”). Program bo predstavil Piotr Kardas. Pridružite se nam v četrtek, 14. 2. 2019 ob 18:00 v Galerija K18, na Koroški ulici 18.
O!PLA je festival animiranega filma na Poljskem. O!PLA 2018 – skoraj 22.000 članov žirije, skoraj 90 festivalskih prizorišč med Baltskim morjem in Tatrami, več kot 100 kratkih filmov, razdeljenih na 8 tekmovalnih kategorij – te številke na kratko opisujejo posebnosti najbolj edinstvenega in največjega popolnoma od spodaj navzgor organiziranega poljskega festivala animiranega filma. Program tradicionalno ustvarja “največja žirija na svetu” – publika. O!PLA od začetka v 2013 posledično raste, ena stvar pa ostaja nespremenjena – neodvisnost in strast, ki stojita za festivalom.
Piotr Kardas (1984) je neodvisni animator sveta animacije; pobudnik in direktor ANIMATION ACROSS BORDERS (2012-), festivala animacije “O!PLA” na Poljskem (2013-), filmskega festivala dokumentarne animacije Rising of Lusitania v Liverpoolu, UK (2019-); soustvarjalec in programski direktor mednarodnega festivala animacije CRAFT v Yogyakarti (Java, Indonesia); koordinator poljske edicije mednarodnega filmskega festivala StopTrik (2016-); kurator, žirant (Belarus, Brazil, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain), pobudnik in koordinator različnih kulturnih in umetniških projektov. Študiral je Filmsko teorijo in nove medije (Univerza v Lodzu). V letih 2010 – 2012 je za Se-ma-for Film Production delal kot distributer ter za Se-ma-for Film Foundation kot pobudnik in koordinator posebnih dogodkov (i-Se-Ma-For European / Asian Express 2011: Peking / Madrid) Tokio / Pariz) in kot programski direktor prvih dveh izdaj filmskega festivala Se-Ma-For (2010/2011). Bil je pobudnik in koordinator sekcije Animation & Competition na mednarodnem filmskem festivalu ARS INDEPENDENT v Katovicah (2012) ter SCARY PUPPETS & SEXY DOLLS (2010-). V letih 2008 – 2010 je bil programski direktor enega izmed najbolj znanih art kinematografov na Poljskem – Charlie Cinema. Stalno sodeluje z različnimi festivali in institucijami po vsem svetu.
Projekcija traja 90 min, animirani filmi s poljskimi dialogi imajo angleške podnapise. Dogodek je organiziran s podporo Veleposlaništva republike Poljske v Ljubljani.

Lecture and screening of the program “O!PLA Focus to Poland: Contemporary Polish Animation”, which presents the latest and the coolest Polish animation (O!PLA means “Oh! O!PLA is animation festival in Poland. O!PLA 2018 – almost 22.000 Jury members, almost 90. festival venues located between Baltic Sea and Tatra Mountains, more than 100. shorts divided into 8 competition categories – these numbers briefly outline the specifics of the most unique and completely grassroots biggest Polish celebration of animated film. And traditionally the program is created by “the biggest Jury in the world” – Audience. Starting of 2013 O!PLA consequently grows in strength, but one thing remains constant – independence and passion, which standing behind the O!PLA.
Piotr Kardas (1984), Independent Animator of the Animation World; initiator and director of ANIMATION ACROSS BORDERS (2012-), “O!PLA” ANIMATION FESTIVAL in Poland (2013-), Rising of Lusitania – AnimaDoc Film Festival in Liverpool, UK (2019-); Co-creator and programme director of CRAFT International Animation Festival in Yogyakarta (Java, Indonesia); coordinator of Polish chapter of StopTrik International Film Festival (2016-); curator, juror (Belarus, Brazil, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain), initiator and coordinator of various cultural and artistic projects. He studied Film Theory and New Media (University of Lodz). In 2010 – 2012 he working for Se-ma-for Film Production as a distributor and Se-ma-for Film Foundation as an initiator and coordinator of special events (i.a. Se-Ma-For European/Asian Express 2011: Beijing/Madrid/Tokyo/Paris) and a program director of two first editions of Se-Ma-For Film Festival (2010/2011). Initiator and coordinator of Animation Section & Competition at ARS INDEPENDENT International Film Festival in Katowice (2012) and SCARY PUPPETS & SEXY DOLLS (2010-), among others. In 2008 – 2010 he was a program director in one of the most famous arthouse cinema in Poland – Charlie Cinema. Permanently cooperates with several festivals and institutions all around the world.
The screening lasts 90 minutes, animated films with Polish dialogues have a permanent English subtitles. The event is organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ljubljana.
