Archaeology of Animation: Trick Cinema and Live-Music
Filmski ustvarjalci in publika zgodnjega filmskega obdobja so bili
zatopljeni v gibanje, podvrženi iluziji in omamljeni od nočnega življenja. S sličico za sličico je fotografija ukanila vsakogar ter
sprožala očaranost, smeh ali strah. Sestavljanje sličice je temeljilo na igrivosti oblik, koreografiji in barvanju traku, vsaka projekcija pa je bila unikatna, saj jo je spremljala glasba v živo. Leta 1918 se je svet spremenil in iz današnje perspektive se najzgodnejši filmski eksperimenti zdijo nedolžni ter naivni. Toda vrnimo se nazaj h kinu stoletje nazaj in si oglejmo, kako veselo je spregovoril o urbanem labirintu, pijancih, perverzijah ter zlasti o kinu samem.
Projekcije bo spremljala glasba v živo, izvajal pa jo bo Artur Maćkowiak. Je glasbenik, izvajalec in improvizator, igra solo in v skupini Innercity Ensemble, pa tudi v številnih drugih kratkotrajnih
glasbenih projektih. Maćkowiak je soustvarjalec in kitarist skupin
Something Like Elvis in Potty Umbrella. Svoja glasbena zanimanja je usmeril v kitarsko glasbo z zajetno dozo eksperimentiranja,
elektronike, ambientala, improvizacije, vedno z značilnim prizvokom slovanske melodike in senzibilnosti.

Archaeology of Animation: Trick Cinema and Live-Music
Early filmmakers and audiences were immersed in movement, subjected to illusion and dazzled by the nightlife. Frame by frame photography was tricking everyone and provoking fascination,
laughter or fear. Compositing the frame was based on play
fulness of shapes, choreography and colors made on reels and each screening seemed unique for it was enriched with live-music. In 1918 the world changed and from today’s perspective the earliest experiments are considered innocent and naive. But let’s go back to the cinema that is older than one century, and let’s see for ourselves how gladly it spoke about urban maze, drunks, perversion and above all the cinema apparatus itself.
The live-music accompanying the screening will be performed by Artur Maćkowiak. He is a musician, performer and an improviser who plays solo and in Innercity Ensemble as well as in many other different ephemeral music projects. Maćkowiak is a co-creator and the guitarist of bands: Something Like Elvis and Potty Umbrella. His interests are focused on guitar music with a
huge dose of experiment, electronics, ambient, improvisation but with a characteristic note of Slavic melody and sensibility.
