»V svetu niso dosegli ničesar velikega brez strasti,« ugotavlja filozof G- W. F. Hegl. In pri Festivalu Maribor se popolnoma strinjamo!

Strast je pogonska sila nebrzdane ustvarjalnosti, ki je postala prepoznavni znak našega festivala. Je tista brbotajoča, goreča, eksplozivna energija, ki žene naše glasbenike v nedoumljive višave. Je nevidna sila, ki kot magnet privlači nas, poslušalce. Je neustavljiva moč, ki veže ene in druge v celoto, ko se združeni v mogočnem izbruhu emocij zlijemo v eno.

Zato smo strast postavili v središče letošnjih festivalskih programov. Od Haydnove strasti do lepote do Beethovnove strasti do svobode, od Mozartove strasti do življenja do otroške strasti do odkrivanja in spoznavanja novega. S karizmatičnim (in strastnim!) Nicolasom Altstaedtom na čelu izbranega seznama uveljavljenih glasbenikov, med katerimi omenimo Alexandra Lonquicha, Komorni godalni orkester Slovenske filharmonije, Simfonični orkester SNG Maribor, Gergelyja Dubóczkyja, Mahirja Kalmika, Dávida Kutasa, Lászla Seemana, Boštjana Lipovška in seveda orkester Haydnove filharmonije, ki skupaj z izbranimi slovenskimi in tujimi glasbeniki tvori rezidenčni orkester festivala, je gotovo: čaka nas nekaj velikega!

With the charismatic (and passionate) Nicolas Altstaedt leading the pack, and with Alexander Lonquich, Haydn Philharmonie, Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber String Orchestra, Gergely Dubóczky, Mahir Kalmik, Kutas Dávid, Laszlo Seeman, Bostjan Lipovsek and SNG Maribor Symphony orchestra following in his step, there is no doubt great things await us!
